As one of the editors of this blog I usually seek for new concepts and ideas that are under development and have something to say. This time me and my spouse came up with a blog that has a few months life (founded 10th July 2010) and is called Writers' Houses. The owner of the site and also a writer, A. N. Devers, says that Writers' Houses is a daily website dedicated to the art of literary pilgrimage. The objective of this site is to document deceased writers’ homes in all over the world that are open to the public.

It' s really an interesting initiative and very difficult to implement taking into consideration that there are at least 290 writers’ houses only in France. The first series of writers' houses includes Carl Sandburg, Dashiell Hammett, Edgar Allan Poe (see poster above), Edith Wharton, Eudora Welty, Eugene O'Neill, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Henry David Thoreau, Herman Melville, Jack London, James Fenimore Cooper, James Joyce, James Merrill, John Steinbeck, Katherine Anne Porter, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Louisa May Alcott, Margaret Sidney, Mark Twain, Nathaniel Hawthorne, O. Henry, Pearl S. Buck, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Robert Frost, Robert Louis Stevenson, Samuel Clemens, Shirley Jackson, Sinclair LewisThomas Wolfe, Walt Whitman, Washington Irving, Willa Cather, William Faulkner, Zane Grey, Zora Neale Hurston. So all of you lovers of literacy are very welcomed to visit this marvelous site and contribute with your knowledge.

You can follow Writers' Houses via twitter too.
