This year CHEAPART celebrates 16 years and it looks like a modern Greek history of modern art fairy tale. The participating artists are beyond any expectation, the selected exhibitions, the large number of visitors and the support of the art experts as well as the fame expanding outside the Greek borders show a very bright and promising future.

CHEAPART gives the opportunity to the artists to create artworks in a friendly environment without any anxiety. Additionally, CHEAPART creates a new non-existing before market of art lovers. The power of this market is growing steadily the last 15 years with strong foundations and knowledge. On the other hand, the artist can create new works and ideas, interact directly with her/ his audience and discuss with other artists. The most important though is the cooperation and the creation of an artist community that works with respect and trust. There is a triangle ARTWORK-ARTIST-AUDIENCE, this chain does not work if one of the rings broke. There is no artwork without the artist and the artist without her/ his audience. CHEAPART gives the opportunity - with low cost once in a year - to its visitors to get know with the artists and buy art instead of talking about art.

CHEAPART16 opened its doors to the public on Thursday 2nd December 2010 with more than 150 artists participating in both cheapart and a.antonopoulou.art galleries. The exhibition ends on Thursday 23rd December 2010. For your information, on Sunday 12th December, a.antonopoulou.art gallery will be open from 12.00 till 16.00.
