Victoire de Castellane "Fleurs d’excès" at Gagosian Gallery

fleur-dexces

Victoire de Castellane's latest creations are on show at Paris' Gagosian Gallery from March 2 through March 22. The Dior haute joaillerie designer, presents unique precious objects that are both works of art and jewelry. Entitled Fleurs d’excès (= Flowers of Excess) Castellane is inspired by the mind-altering and intoxicating drugs. According to the designer it's all about self-destruction, addiction of all forms and a relationship between these flowers and women. The vivid-coloured fine jewels are made of gold and silver inlaid with rubies, diamonds, jade and rhyolite, where some of them encrust LED technology to glow in the dark. These exquisite jewelry are certainly waiting to be worn...
