On the steep slopes of Northern Italy’s Alps, near the village of Chiavenna, five secluded haylofts have been transformed by VALDE into a magical escape, ideal for reconnecting with nature and living creativity. The houses date back to the 1700s and have been renovated with a mixture of ancient and modern materials. Through marvelous feats of design and engineering, the haylofts contain modern amenities, disguised by local materials and handiwork. The two lower VALDE haylofts are situated on a small grassy terrace, overlooking the lush Chiavenna valley. The terrace, with the custom picnic table, also doubles as a landing pad for helicopters.

Despite their seclusion, two major cities (Milano, Zurich) are two hours away and Lake Como as well as St. Moritz are less than an hour drive. If you are of those who love the adventure you can go hiking and explore the alpine breath-taking mountainous region. Other outings are a visit in the nearby village of Chiavenna and the small town of Soglio (20 minutes drive) in the Swiss-Italian borders or the Tamina Gorge at Bad Ragaz (Switzerland) which can be reached within 90 minutes.

In case you love extreme sports you can do heliski in the Italian side of the Alps. For more information about booking and enquiries you can visit the official website of Valde Haylofts.
