"Dreams", a solo exhibition by Nikos Mihalitsianos

Zoumboulakis Galleries host till the 5th February 2011 the solo exhibition of Nikos Mihalitsianos. The exhibition is called "DREAMS" and comes right after his presentation at the London Hellenic Center back in 2010. We need to mention at this point that the artist exhibits his whole artwork from 2004 till nowadays.
Mihalitsianos gives a different view of the human scale and gesture and with light, that plays an important role in his works, tends to create a sense of theatricality.
The last few years his source of inspiration are dreams, and through his composition degrades or strengthens the character of space or the human picture. Thus, he creates with this way a dialogue between real and fantastic and works take on two scales and two levels reminding a theatrical scene. The artist works with wood and canvas and lately with PVC in order to give a two-dimension perspective in his paintings.
