et/ou fashion art exhibition
la belle et les beaux announces an international call for entries for the event et/ou, which is taking place 13 – 15 May 2011 at Starkart Exhibitions in Zürich. All persons and labels working in art and/or fashion are eligible to submit an application.
The exhibition et/ou, which is taking place during Zurich's fashion and design weekend Kreislauf 4+5, separates fashion and art from their conventional contexts and gives their meaning a new frame of reference. et/ou allows the two forms of expression to blend and to penetrate each other — in order to give room for the creation of something new. Thereby the intersection of fashion and art is being explored from two sides: While the overlap is being approached under the viewpoint of art in the exhibition area, the subject is being explored from the perspective of the more practical aspect of apparel and accessory design in the shop.
Artists and fashion designers are invited to submit concepts on the topic of paradise by 5 March 2011. The participants will be chosen by the following team of curators:

Nicole Billi (Product-Manager/Designer, Globus)
Adrian Reber (Head of Design Knitwear, Hugo Boss)
Michael Koritschan (Artist/Photographer, Studio Koritschan)
After the selection artists and designers contribute works to the exhibition as well as the shop. Therefore fashion designers advance into fine art territory, while artists conquer the world of functional objects. Through the reciprocal challenge a convergence of the two means of expression is being sought.
