On Thursday 10th February 2011 LOLA NIKOLAOU Art Gallery is pleased to present three very famous Greek artists, Costas Varotsos, Yiorgos Lazongas and Apostolos Palavrakis.
Varotsos, known for his glass sculpture "the runner" outside Athens Hilton, sees modernism as the only way of proposing something new, having, though a deep knowledge of the past and the cultural history. The art of Lazongas is actually a track expression where he combines different materials in a way that characterizes the historical divergence, that the modern Greek art and poetry tend to. His thoughts are an extension of his hand, that tries to formulate statements of a lost identity something too common in modern Greece.
On the other hand Palavrakis invites the viewer to meet the structural components of art. The creator intensifies the perspective, the mass, the shadow and the light and he introduces us his mysterious world history with an only guide, our eyes.
The exhibition will be open till the 12th March 2011.
