40 χρόνια από την προσελήνωση του Apollo 11 - 40 years from Apollo's 11 moon landing

Σήμερα συμπληρώνονται 40 χρόνια από την προσελήνωση του Apollo 11 με πλήρωμα τους Armstrong, Aldrin και Collins. Ήδη εταιρείες πολυτελών ειδών κυκλοφόρησαν προϊόντα για να τιμήσουν την επέτειο (βλέπε Omas One Small Step). Μια από αυτές είναι και η Louis Vuitton με την φουτουριστική ντουλάπι "Malle Mars". Το ρομποτικό διαστημικό κομμάτι ανοίγει σε πολλά μέρη εμφανίζοντας ποικιλία αποθηκευτικών χώρων και συρταριών, στα οποία μπορούν να αποθηκευτούν φάρμακα, εργαλεία, σκεύη για πικνικ όπως επίσης και μια αναδιπλώμενη καρέκλα.

Το ντουλάπι εκτίθεται από σήμερα στο Rose Center for Earth and Space του Αμερικανικού Μουσείου Φυσικής Ιστορίας (American Museum of Natural History).

Για τους συλλέκτες γραμματοσήμων και νομισμάτων ενημερωτικά σας αναφέρω ότι κυκλοφορεί ένα σετ που περιλαμβάνει ένα δολλάριο Eisenhower, κοπής 1971-1978. Το πίσω μέρος του νομίσματος φέρει το έμβλημα της διαστημικής αποστολής του Apollo 11. Το νόμισμα είναι 40% ασήμι και είναι ακυκλοφόρητο.

Το γραμματόσημο "First Man on the Moon" είναι το πρώτο μεγάλο αναμνηστικό γραμματόσημο που κυκλοφόρησε στις ΗΠΑ.

It's been 40 years since the first moon landing with the Apollo 11 mission with a crew constituted of Armstrong, Aldrin & Collins. Luxury item companies have circulated commemorative products (see Omas One Small Step). One of them is Louis Vuitton with the futuristic trunk "Malle Mars". The robotic space-aged piece opens in several places unveiling a variety of compartments and drawers, fully equipped to carry various essential items such as medication, tools, picnic wares, and a folding lounge chair.

The trunk is on display from today, at the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History.

For the stamp and coin collectors I have good news for them. There is the "Apollo 11 Commemorative Coin and Stamp" set consisting from an Eisenhower dollar, minted from 1971-1978 and a large stamp. The reverse of the coin is an adaptation of the Apollo 11 insignia. The coin is 40 percent silver and was never in circulation.

The stamp "First Man on the Moon" is the first large-size commemorative stamp issued in America.
