A million times (Dubai Time) by Humans since 1982

Humans Since 1982 celebrate Design Days Dubai 2013 with an exclusive installation. A 3,44 metre long kinetic clock installation based on almost 300 interconnected analogue clocks, each synchronized to drive the minute and hour-hand independently to create beautifully choreographed movements. Subtly contextualising old and the new, analogue and digital, 'Time Dubai', part of the 'A Million Times' project by Humans Since 1982 has been designed exclusively for the show and will be presented by the renowned Belgian design-art traders and curators, Victor Hunt Designart Dealer.

'Time Dubai' is impressive at first sight, with a mechanic choreography taking place every 60 seconds. All clocks revolve hypnotically with each passing minute, showcasing customizable texts, patterns and graphics before settling down to display the updated time. The dance of the needles and the message they convey can be controlled through a customised software on the iPad.

This cutting-edge installation brought to life by the brilliant minds of Per Emanuelsson (Sweden) & Bastian Bischoff (Germany), both born in 1982. They founded their studio (Humans Since 1982) in 2008 during their Master graduation at the School of Design and Crafts (HDK) Gothenburg. Before they met at HDK, Per completed a Master of Science at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and Bastian studied Communication Design at HTWG in Konstanz, Germany. Since 2010 they are based in Stockholm.
