Elias Papanikolaou new artworks
Elias Papanikolaou latest artwork was presented at Kaplanon5 art gallery in Athens from 26th Feb 2013 to 16th March 2013 under the title the "the pose of pine tree needles".
In the exhibition, the artist presented 300 paintings of varied dimensions, the small scale ones were presented as one installation. Papanikolaou told us about his latest exhibition:
"the pose of pine tree needles", sometimes I stand under a pine and hear that perceptible and unusual breeze that sneaks into the pine tree needles and makes them play a music tone... And I think, how this needle lives, I wonder... A pine tree needle! Nothing... An extremity of nature, that has the need to co-exist with other needles in order to create shade over a wall or in a turn of a street. And how many other things can I think about this pine tree needle... There, in her deeps, I want my painting to live. I want to talk about her innocence, her freedom, the nakedness... That's why I like to create something descriptive and then with my art to "set fire" in her mirror!... It does not concern me art with boundaries! Painting is like a small child that looks for the obvious... To help him open his wings... My mentor, the "wise" pine tree needle and all the modest things!
