2nd DESIGN FOR LIFE

2nd DESIGN FOR LIFE exhibition takes place in "MELINA" Cultural Center from September 23rd until September 25th 2011. The exhibition is exclusively dedicated to design and its 20th century masters.
The central axe of the exhibition is the 150 years of design, from Antoni Gaudi to Philippe Stark. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the design history (past, present, future) through a variety of objects gathered from design museums, galleries, private collections and organisations. A parallel event is the special hommage to 3 very important movements in the 20th century: "MEMPHIS", "ALCHIMIA" and "DE STIJL".
Young talented Greek designers and design art studios have more space this year to "unfold" their creativity and ideas. Its worth-while to mention some of them like Point Supreme Architects, AFU, Alexandra Tsoukala, Zakopoulos-Meneghini, Nefeli Kontarini, Lydia Haida. Greek architects, such as Theofanis Bobotis (BOBOTIS ARCHITECTS) and Alexandros Tripodakis, present 2 projects in 2nd DESIGN FOR LIFE. Additionally, architects Eleftherios Piskitzis and Thomas Gravanis present tensile membrane structures and lighting architecture.
