El Pecado Salva IV collection, Marios Eleftheriadis exhibition, Lola Nikolaou Art Gallery
Lola Nikolaou Art Gallery in Thessaloniki has the honor to present Marios Eleftheriadis past and present artworks from his El Pecado Salva collection. It is a reason for the artist to pay tribute to his home town and be part of the 3rd Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art. Marios Eleftheriadis says in his message that "Sin is not just useful but also important to achieve self-knowledge". The exhibition starts on Sept 6th and ends on October 8th 2011. The official opening of the exhibition will be on September 15th (at 15.00 - 23.00 h) with the presence of the General Consul of France and Director of Thessaloniki French Institute, Mr. Christian Thimonier.
Two Marios Eleftheriadis sculptures ("Fuck you" - "Je t'aime") from the El Pecado Salva V collection have a prominent place in the 14th edition of the International Exhibition of Sculpture & Installations "OPEN" (Sept 2nd - Sept 30th 2011) that takes place in Venice (Lido) at the same time with the Venice International Film Festival.
Eleftheriadis is Professor of Art Printmaking / Head of Publication & Printing Department at Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Art de Limoges-Aubusson, France. He studied BA (Hons) in Fine Arts, (D.N.E.S.P) at National School of Fine Arts (Bourges, France). He got his PhD in Fine Art Printmaking in the Iceland Academy of the Arts (Reykjavik, Iceland). 2001 is the year when he gets the Miró award from Pilar & Juan Miro Foundation in Majorca in collaboration with Sotheby's.
