Giannis Parmakelis: Horses and Riders
The B & M Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts and Music presents from Sept. 27th till Nov. 4th 2012, the new work of the highly acclaimed sculptor and Academician, Giannis Parmakelis, in an exhibition entitled "Horses and Riders 2000-2012". His recent work includes around 60 sculptures, wall sculptures and drawings, from 2000 to 2012, giving emphasis on their geometric plasticity, without detailed and stylized rendering of anatomical detail, with peaks and troughs, which seem fluid-agile and stress contours.
The exhibition is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue entitled "Giannis Parmakelis: Horses and Riders 2000-2012" with texts by: Chryssanthos Christou, Marina Lambraki-Plaka, Angelos Delivorrias and Takis Mavrotas who did the curation. The exhibition is sponsored by REVOIL SA and supported by the art transport company "Athanasios Bergeles".
