These garments enliven a creative, colourful “fête dansante” in which the protagonists are the forms, colours and creative genius of this artist, who combines glamour, fashion and cutting-edge design in a wholly original manner. The initiative is part of the larger “DoVe – Donne a Venezia Creatività, economia e felicità” event promoted by the Assessorato, which sees a number of Venetian cultural institutions collectively involved in focusing on the role of women in society.

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada (Madrid, 1960) began her creative career in the early 1980s in Madrid and Barcelona, exhibiting clothes, paintings and drawings in various galleries, and holding her first fashion shows. In the 1990s, she launched her nowfamous “Thursday” happenings of avant-garde culture in which exponents of every sector of art and society meet in her shop/studio. In Berlin and Madrid, she presented the rajes inacabados and a collection of kimonos in Madrid. Since 1998, she has held a show in Paris during the “Semaine de la Mode”. In 2004, she won the Italian fashion Oscar as “International designer” at Taormina.
