MASH UP collection by Diederik Schneemann
One of the interesting presentations in this year's Salone Internazionale del Mobile is that of Diederik Schneemann. Being driven by his curiosity in the 3D printing he created the "MASH UP" collection. With "MASH UP", Schneemann raises questions on the copyright issues that are emerging along side the fast growing 3D printing industry and pays a tribute to a few of his favorite designers. By using cutting edge 3D printing techniques to copy and mash-up, compose parts of established icons Diederik creates "new" controversial objects.
A collection of strong communicative value that "cries out", "What impact will this new production method really have on us as a consumer, designer, or producer?"
MASH UP will be presented at the Autofficina from April 9 to 13 at Ventura Lambrate during Milan Design Week 2013.
