Piet Hein Eek at Spazio Rossana Orlandi
For the first time, Piet Hein Eek has chosen a theme for his presentation at Rossana Orlandi: beams! The choice of material as the theme is not arbitrary: the material, combined with the possibilities already available or that spontaneously arise, form the basis of practically all of my designs. A huge batch of beams that his studio bought in 2007 and has haunted them to this very day is what sparked an entire series of beam furniture, the last pieces of which they are presenting. Once again, the presentation is accompanied by a book, this time in which they share their beam adventures. It is a book about not discarding, not giving up, making something from next to nothing, and making do with what you have. In other words, they are not only presenting their products, but their working method as well.
The BEAM collection consists of the CHUNKY SHINY WHITE BEAM armchair, CHUNKY UPHOLSTERED BEAM armchair AND BENCH, an armchair with cushions, a waste cabinet, a cupboard and sideboard and the BIG ONE BEAM bench.
