Inverted Spaces by BCXSY and Calico Wallpaper

We have long been admirers of the Amsterdam-based conceptual design studio BCXSY (Boaz Cohen & Sayaka Yamamoto) and it is really nice to see their collaboration with Calico Wallpaper being displayed in Spazio Rossana Orlandi (Via Matteo Bandello, 14‐16) during Milan Design Week 2015. Inverted Spaces, is a new wallpaper design inspired by the night sky. BCXSY created abstracted artworks from compilations of NASA space photography, which Calico Wallpaper then digitally composed into a non‐repeating wall mural. The installation inside Spazio Rossana Orlandi will be a panoramic and immersive custom-made universe. As we read in the official press release "Inverted Spaces celebrate the fascination of the infinity that has surrounded us since the dawn of mankind".

The partnership between Calico Wallpaper and BCXSY that evolved into Inverted Spaces began in 2013. The wallpaper designs were created during summer 2014 when Rachel and Nick Cope visited the BCXSY duo in Amsterdam. Note that the wallpaper designs will be available for purchase in Italy exclusively through Rossana Orlandi, and in the US and the rest of the world directly through Calico Wallpaper.
