T-E-X-T-B-L-O-C-K by Pini Leibovich Design Studio

One of the events we find very interesting to attend during the Milano Design Week 2015 is the T-E-X-T-B-L-O-C-K commissioned by Pini Leibovich Design Studio. The installation is set in the Alberto Levi Gallery (Via San Maurilio, 24) and can be considered as the designer's personal debate about design, functionality and visibility. What it draw us our attention is the Leibovich's phrase "Design is about beauty and happiness. It's a combination of the perfection promised by technology and the imperfection of daily life". The installation is an interpretation of the celebrated design discussion of a basic repeating unit - whether it is modular, expanding, collapsible, stackable, parametrical, configurative or live. In one hand, its function is to be interrupted by contents – objects of different colors weights and directions, but at the same time, there is a constant aspiration to keep its construction and foundation visibly clear. In this case the unit – square - cube – is interrupted from the beginning to highlight the tension between the urge to create order, following a set of principles and the basic need of using and even abusing a designer’s work.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on April 14th from 18.00 to 22.00. Opening hours: from 14th to 18th April the gallery is open from 10.00 to 20.00 and the 19th April from 11.00 to 19.00.
