Galerie DUTKO presents until May 26th 2012 the new sculpture work of Alexandra Athanassiades. Known for her horse and human body sculptures she once again proves that even with "poor" organic materials such as wood, nails and metal you can express the power and the elegance that the male body and the horse vibrate.
Alexandra Athanassiades was born in Athens in 1961, graduated from "Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art", Oxford University and she began her trip in sculpture by selecting tree branches at her Athens studio. For more than 20 years she works with horse and human body forms being her signature sculptures. She exhibited her artworks at the Onassis Foundation in New York and the Benaki Museum in Athens (Greece).
Alexandra Athanassiades: Sculptures, galerie DUTKO (4 rue de Bretonvilliers, 75004 Paris). From March 22nd to May 26th, 2012.
